But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power & that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth. Exodus 9:16
Dear Raivu Family and Friends,
How long God? Have you ever asked that? How much longer until......? For us it has taken more than 4 1/2 years for God to bring us to where he wants us not only in location, but in our dependence on him. There have been times where we questioned is this right God? Is this really what you want? Then we would see a glimmer of light, or someone would speak words of encouragement in our lives. "Just stay on course to the vision that God has given," over the past 6 months we have heard this many times from many of the new family of believers that God has been so gracious to plant around us. Raivu For Kids has found its home in Southern Wisconsin. Raivu 1440 continues to grow and become a part of the youth in our communities. Week after week, faithfully our youth come to hear the word of God. Though we do have a lot of fun, it is more then that, Raivu 1440 is about discipling our kids in the word of God to help them to become more like Jesus.
Summer has given way to fall and after a great season of a lot of learning the harvest was plentiful the garden has been prepped for winter.

Philippians 4: 19 And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Lately, God is truly answering our prayers before we barely even get to speak them. Where we live the Christian music station is hit or miss as far as a signal. Now, not that the music is not good when it does come in, however it is not always the beat that the youth want to listen to, we wanted to help give our kids a positive alternative. We mentioned the issue to some of our supporters and before we knew it, we had generous donors step up and provide mp3 players loaded with Christian music for all our middle school and high school kids, as well as a contemporary Christian music CD for the elementary youth. As we continue to dive into the word of God we came to the realization that the word of God was not readily accessible to all of our kids, about 25% had bibles of their own. Just like that in a blink of the eye we had the funds donated to purchase for all the youth in Raivu 1440 brand new bibles. We also brought some of the outdoors inside with one of our student leaders Aly brought in her rabbits and shared about the business she started breading lion head rabbits.
October also brought a month of outings for Raivu 1440. On October 1 we took a 100% donated field trip with the kids and their parents to Royal Oak Orchard, in Harvard, Illinois and October 28, Raivu 1440 hosted a night time capture the flag event for middle and high schoolers. We had about 40 youth and volunteers turn out to participate in the event.

Raivu from the eyes of............Jordan
WITH THE HELP OF GOD I WILL LIVE MY LIFE WITH HONESTY, COURAGE, COMMITMENT AND SERVICE... is the pledge we recite Tuesday and Thursday as we begin our nights at Raivu. What may have started, at the beginning of the summer, as just a thing to say before we get to the garden or a game of capture the flag are fast becoming notable traits of the kids here in attendance.
These kids are really coming out of there shell as of late, as we discuss some pretty heavy issues. Being honest about some of their differing opinions and having the courage to be vocal about them. Corey, always there to point the kids back to the Word. (All of the kids which now have there very own Bible donated to them.) It's cool to see how committed these kids are. A good deal of the kids have not missed a day. I believe a lot of that is because we have fun. A lot of fun. Whether it be charades, or rabbits or some sort of birthday cake once a month, every one is having a good time. But I think the reason most of the kids are coming back is because we talk about things that don't get talked about enough. They all have the desire to learn more about God and the ways in which they can serve Him. For some of these kids, Raivu is their only outlet to see and hear about God.

I would encourage volunteering at Raivu for reasons why any volunteering is encouraged. You will get way more out of it than you put in. And while most of the kids in attendance are devastatingly better at air hockey than I am, it is still fulfilling to play with them, help them find bible verses and discuss God and their lives with them. And even as an adult leader, I'm still very much learning.
